"Heidi was a lifeline of support to our family when we returned home from China with our third adopted child. Her calm voice and wise counsel helped us navigate attachment and medical trauma as we struggled through medical procedures, hospital stays and surgeries. Her voice of hope was balm for our weary hearts and minds."

Are you finding that parenting is hard, exhausting, lonely, and isolating? Do you end your day feeling drained emotionally and physically? Are your emotions all over the place? Have you tried everything you know but your child still has challenging behaviors? I get it! I have been on this journey too. Parenting is the hardest job in the world. Parenting a child whose earliest relationships were rooted in loss and rupture is even harder. At times, parenting a child who has experienced early childhood trauma can seem impossible.
When I adopted my own children, I just wanted to be a mom. I thought that love was enough. The reality is that it takes so much more than love. It takes a very intentional kind of parenting. Families like ours need support and you do not have to do it alone. I would be blessed to walk alongside your family on your path to healing and share what I have learned.
I have been a pediatric critical care nurse for 19 years. I was honored to spend my career helping children and their families during what was most likely one of the most challenging and stressful times in their lives. My years as a nurse taught me that I could not always fix the hurt and the pain. Yet, I could sit and hold my patient's hand and help them find comfort during times of distress. I feel that the same is true for the work I do now. I may not always have the answers or the magic "fix", but I can help you learn to make sense of your journey and help you through the hard times. As a Marriage and Family Therapist and adoptive parent coach, I work with individuals, couples, and families in order to help them find joy and peace within their lives.

In my spare time, I enjoy traveling with my family, shopping, and crafting. In the winter, I take every opportunity I can to hit the slopes while in the summer I enjoy relaxing with a good book on the beach. In addition to my professional work, I am an active volunteer in the international adoption community and love volunteering at my children’s school.
